konkan brown rice steamed cake

Brown rice ukade tandul is healthy version of rice and tasty too. In Goa steamed rice cake is made with jaggery and coconut. It is called ukadya tandalche satv. उकड्या तांदळाचे सत्व . It can be perfect evening snack or breakfast. Traidtionally it is steamed on turmeric leaf or banana leaf. Aroma of turmeric leaf, coconut and jaggery fills the house with wonderful flavour.

उकड्या तांदळाचे सत्व


  • 1 Cup Brown Rice (उकडे तांदूळ)
  • 1/2 Cup Grated Coconut (नारळाचा किस)
  • 1 Cup Grated Jaggery (गुळ)
  • Cardamom (वेलची)
  • Pinch of Salt (मीठ)
